Swift Creek Contracting Inc is looking for a skilled asphalt paver operator who takes pride in a clean mat and knows how to run a paver the right way. We are a fast-paced paving company based in the Richmond area. We work commercial, VDOT, and private projects throughout Central Virginia. If you can hold grade, keep a smooth surface, and work with the crew — not against it — we want to talk. Pay: $28–$34/hour DOE, plus overtime. What you will do Operate an asphalt paver (Cat, Volvo, Blaw-Knox, or similar) on commercial, VDOT, and private work Maintain proper grade, slope, and smoothness Work with the dump trucks, screed, roller operators, and laborers so the crew stays in rhythm Monitor mix temperature, head of material, and mat quality throughout the pull Perform daily equipment checks and basic upkeep Work overtime and travel within Central Virginia when needed What you need Prior experience operating an asphalt paver as a primary operator (required) Ability to maintain proper grade and smoothness Understanding of paving crew flow and communication Reliable, on time, and ready to work Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus Ability to work overtime and some travel when needed Ability to work outdoors in heat and traffic for extended shifts What we offer Competitive hourly pay based on experience: $28–$34/hour Steady work year-round Overtime opportunities Good equipment Strong, tight-knit crew Growing company with long-term opportunity 401(k) Premium health, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance plan after 6 months Annual boot allowance Strong vacation policy Website: swiftcreekcontractingva.com Swift Creek Contracting Inc is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
